Well at the end of Yugioh GX it's never really shown who won the duel between Yugi and Jaden so it's unknown who ended with the title. I want to say it was Jaden because of the way he duels it leaves more options to him. Or you could say Yugi won. (I doubt that myself.) Or you could go the third path and say Joey beat Yugi to get his Dragon back getting the title. Zigfried von Schroeder beat Joey giving him the title. Then then finally Seto beat him. So the third option is that Seto has it.....I'm still going with Jaden. I think he would give Joey's monster back.

No matter what I say, I lose. Everyone wants it to be Jaden.
Therefore, I'll just say who rightfully deserved it in the first place, and how it gets passed on.
First, Yugi loses to Rebecca Hawkins. Technically, Rebecca becomes King o' games. The very next time she duels in the series, she duels Valon, tagged teamed with Duke Devlin. Valon wins. Then, after a long string of wins on Valon's part, he finally loses to Joey, whom doesn't duel at any point after that in that arc. Then, in the Tournament, Zigfried von Schroeder beat Joey, so he has the title, which is then defeated by Seto Kaiba. After that, Seto Kaiba never really duels.
In GX, Seto Kaiba becomes the protector of all that is good, Kaibaman. He defeats Jaden, but then is later assumed to have been defeated by Mr. T, whom is shown on a list of victims in a brief scene in Kaiba corp's tower. Despite that Kaiba wasn't apparently absorbed by DARKUNESSU, he still apparently lost to Mr. T. And since DARKUNESSU said he absorbed EVERYONE, he absorbed and beat Yugi too. So no matter how you cut it, DARKUNESSU became King of Games. ... and... uh... Jaden defeats him.
